About
MODEL
The MODEL program is not meant to replace the role of parents, guardians, or teachers. Rather, our program functions as a supplement to the efforts of the caring adults in our participants lives. We believe that we can maximize the support and encouragement given to children by working closely with parents and schools. These are some of the reasons mentoring programs are especially important:

Program
Mentoring programs provide after-school structure in a caring, individualized approach to help shape positive life choices in their participants.
Mentoring programs bring an encouraging adult into a child's life within the school environment. This helps create a positive association with school, and thus with the continuation of their education.
Mentoring programs offer another adult, another perspective, and another champion for children.
Children look to role models to help them face their future. Mentors can help children learn to believe in themselves.

Mentoring programs do not solve all the problems children have, but they can improve the lives of many children. Mentors demonstrate support and care; something each child needs to understand if they are to develop emotionally, socially, and academically.
