National Educational Service Center, Inc. (LNESC). For the past 14 years,
she has been a strong youth advocate and community leader for
addressing academic and social needs in San Francisco and San Mateo

As a strong believer of the organization's mission of improving educational attainment, increasing economic development, and closing the achievement gap, she stands firm in building community strength by empowering students to maximize their potential through effective programming.
Why mentoring? Through the years of working with youth, I haven seen the need for youth to have a positive role model; an individual to take them by the hand and show them the ropes to success. I believe that a mentor is that individual. As a mentor, one can plant a seed of hope in the life of a student just by showing care. Our youth are starving for attention and need to feel that they are important. A mentor can show care by simply dedicating time to listen, to play, to accompany or participate in the youth's activities. I have had the privilege of being a mentor to many youth who have finished college and other who are in college. I have also been blessed to have had mentor who guided, encouraged and advised me in important decisions I have had to make. We all need positive mentors to grow healthy and accomplish dreams and goals. Mentors can last for a season or for a lifetime, but they both make a HUGE difference in our lives. Leave a legacy: BEING A MENTOR IS WORHT IT! Fun Fact: I am a soccer mom!

Why mentoring? A mentor is a guide. Through a mentor, one can learn from their experiences to avoid the same mistakes. Mentors give us a better perspective to tackle problems through education and counseling, and this helps us strengthen our self-esteem and belief in our ability and our potential.
